Core Curriculum
The curriculum is for the child age 2 ½-6. This includes a Pre-Primary (2-4 years) and Primary (5-6 years) Program.

Movement Education

For the student, freedom is the goal, not a point of beginning. The free child develops his potential, solves his own problems and is capable of asking for and accepting directions.

The Montessori method
Several elements are necessary for a Montessori preschool, the first being an ungraded class of children. A child is capable of working individually on one level in one subject and on another level in still another subject. He can work with older and younger children and still enjoy social inter-action with children his own age.

Montessori preschools are based on the principle that the child, not the teacher, is the constructor of himself. The teacher's job is to provide the materials and introduce them, being ready to respond when help is needed.

Most lessons are presented to the child as an individual and not in groups. Other children may watch if they are interested. In this way, the teacher can address the specific needs of a child and can respond to that individual child's interest and level of understanding. This individual attention helps the teacher become much more familiar with the child and more fully understand and better provide for that child.

The materials are attractively displayed on shelves that are easily accessible to the child. They provide the stimuli that will capture the child's attention and initiate a process of concentration. Many times a child feels the need to repeat an exercise. By doing so, he is acquiring a new power of perception, enabling him to see what he did not at first notice. The child must be allowed to go on repeating the exercise as long as he likes so that this inner ripening has time to take place.
